holy alps!

Hopefully I can be forgiven for my long hiatus from updating the blog but my summer has sure been busy! I got the trip of a lifetime this June/July when I finally got to leave Wisconsin and head over to the land of the good wine, cheese, and fashion... FRANCE! This trip only confirmed my suspicion that somehow I ended up on the wrong continent because I have never been happier than when I was in Europe and I'm already planning next summer's trip back...
As for my favorite things:
1) The Alps! Our group (I went with my school) got to stay in the town of Chamonix at the base of Mt. Blanc- the highest peak in Western Europe and also the city that hosted the first winter olympics in 1929. On a side note, it just happened to be "fete de la musique"- a national music festival, so our first night was filled with good music and partying in the streets with the fabulous locals.
2) Paris. Of course it makes the list. But, particularily Montmartre in Paris (where Amalie was filmed) because of the artists, Corcorans Irish Pub, and all those flowers in every window.
3) Diskotheques. Alright so we only got to go to one, but American teens definately miss out on these... Dancing all night any night? The French have it made.
4) The Mediterranean. It was about 100 degrees (of course I couldnt know for sure since it was in Celcius) and the water was so gorgeously blue.
5) Nutella. The chocolate hazlenut spread of the Devil... So addicting. Eat it on anything and everything.
and of course about a million more things. But now i must find something entertaining to occupy the rest of my summer in Wisconsin.. working to save for next summer's trip to Europe?
If you have any suggestions for places I should add to the itinerary, please let me know!

You have to go to Barcelona! It's my favourite city. Ever.
